You don't need the http:// portion of a web page
When typing an Internet address you do not need to type http:// or even www. in the address. For example, if you wanted to visit All In One Computer you could just type allinonecomputer.com and press enter. To make things even quicker, if you're visiting a .com address you can type allinonecomputer and then press Ctrl + Enter to type out the full http://www.allinonecomputer.com address.

Where should I go to remove a program from my computer?
The right way to remove a program is to go to the control panel and choose the appropriate icon. If you do not remove un-wanted software like this, junk files will be left behind and can cause problems on your computer.

What is the best way to shut down a computer?
You need to go to the start menu to shut down your computer. This will give the computer a chance to pack everything away. If you press the start button in for 5 seconds, the computer rushes to pack everything away in 5 seconds. Its like leaving the house in a hurry. You usually forget something.

Testing Ubuntu - Linux....(IT'S FREE) We love this operating system so far. Fast little hang ups, not so great for downloaded email, working on solutions for that. Testing for 3 months

Testing Google Chrome browser (1 year now) -This is by far the best browser we have used. FAST uses little resources and is safe.

Open Office (like Microsoft Office only its free). This is a good substitute for your word processing, graphics, spreadsheet etc. and it is free...Only thing so far is it is very boggy.Testing for 1 year now.

Think you have malware? #1 thing to do, run malware program, and ccleaner. (can't run those call a tech) #2 With popups, do not click on them or closes them with the X. (Alt-f4 and call tech) #3 Do not run your computer, turn it off and call a tech.

Close Popups without clicking the X - This eliminates the adware from downloading to your computer.

We have been testing a new Malware program, this one is FREE Malwarebyte we will keep you posted. Latest ran on machine with only 128 m memory. Removed all the malware. This program has proven itself. No longer hangs on any of the computers we use it on.

SpyDoctor by PCTools - you have to pay for this thou ($39.00) Free to scan your computer but free version does not delete or quarantine files. Removes up to 85% of spyware and malware. With immunization on systems are very slow.
There is a free version but you must download the Google Pack. Free version works the same except you have no real time protection.

Antivirus programs

The Best so far Avast and its FREE, uses very little resources, catches all virus and some malware. Been testing for a year now. We have it on all our home computers.

Now testing Kaspersky Free online scanner, full version you have to pay for.

McAfee - Starting to slow down (this program is catching up to Norton as far as speed goes, catches all virus to date. Catches some spyware but I would not rely on it. The suite is horrible, it takes over your machine.

Norton removes most all virus's but is incredible slow, it's spam and spyware protection does not work very well at all. Uses way to much resources on your machine. The suite does not work well either, however, some of the features with System Works are by far the best tools on the market. Heard the new version is slim and fast...Will be testing soon.

Free Version of Spyware Doctor Antivirus Does the job well, however, if you do not have your machine on at all time or when you schedule scans or updates it hangs and throws errors.. Software is a memory hog.
